NASA is set to test the new laser communication technology this week, which is mainly aimed at speeding up space communications.
It is known as optical communications because they use light to send information.
This will allow 100 times more data transmission back to Earth compared to the traditional radio frequencies.
They are set to launch the LCRD on December 5 and have set up a live coverage for the test.
It will be broadcasted on various platforms, including NASA Television.
