Musk’s SpaceX and T-Mobile plan

According to an announcement made on Thursday by the companies, US wireless carrier T-Mobile US Inc. will use SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk, to place Starlink satellites in orbit to give mobile users network access in certain areas of the country. The new plans, which would coexist with T-mobile's current cellular services, would eliminate the need for cell towers and provide service for sending texts and images where cell coverage is currently unavailable, essential for emergency situations in remote areas, Musk said at a flashy event on Thursday at his business's south Texas rocket facility. T-Mobile's mid-band spectrum will be utilized by Starlink's satellites to build a new network. The majority of phones used by the company's clients will work with the new service.
